I know this looks more like an promotion of Henry Peter Gyrich than of Storm, given that she doesn't do anything funky with her weather-control powers and all, but, despite what New Marvel and T'challa would have you believe, and with apologies to Gail Simone, getting shot and depowered was the most interesting thing that ever happened to Storm.
On the face of it, the ability to manipulate the weather sounds pretty cool. However, as Halle Berry has proved admirably in the past few years, weather control alone does not an interesting character make. There's only so many times you can make it snow to piss off the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, before it gets old, you know? Fortunately, our Storm has more to her than that. Firstly, as she never gets tired of telling her teammates, "In my youth, I was the finest thief in all Cairo" - I'm guessing the Egyptian Tourist Board aren't planning to use her to advertise holidays on the Nile anytime soon. And secondly, she spent her pre-X-Men days being worshipped as a goddess by African tribesmen. Not sure I'd give that up in order to hang out a creepy school with the ol' Canucklehead, but there you go.

And what about beating up poor old Callisto? And running off with Yukio in Tokyo? When a woman cuts off her hair and has a radical hairstyle change, you know she's going through some major emotional shit - honest, guv.
Was she ever an interesting character? I mean Halle Berry looks Ok in rubber gear but even that doesn't make for an interesting character...
is a goddess in one comic she was asked to govern the duty of fate but she said no then in the future she evauled into a powerful being submerged in the weather she had full control over her element and was stronger then the phenoix she is a rare mutant in the marvel universe and she is rigth now the most impportant person in the marvel world she got married and is know queen of africa and she can now merge with the elements oh yea and she has a gfoddess form its so cool
