(Not Quite) 312 Days of Comics: Doctor Sordid!

You probably don't remember my early appearances in Marvel Comics' Super Squad comic. Due to legal problems between the creators of the comic and Marvel editorial, the Super Squad's exploits have never been reprinted, and the Squad, as well as their supporting cast, have languished in obscurity for nearly 30 years. Which is a shame, as some of my early appearances (plotting alongside the Secret Empire to transform New Yorkers into gamma-radiated zombie slaves) were the work of supervillain legend.

If only I'd been allowed to go to the Secret Wars along with the rest of them, things might be very different. That plotline where Doctor Doom stole the power of the Beyonder and destroyed all the heroes? Originally, Jim Shooter planned that for me. Of course, I would have been a bit more creative in my plans for the heroes. Heh heh, bueno, as they say.

Anyway, that's water under the bridge now. I've moved on for plans for world conquest - in this post-911 world we live in, organisations such as mine aren't tolerated as much by the international community. Maybe it's just as well: I can barely find the time to keep a blog updated these days, much less plot the overthrow of mankind...

And I'd do it again!

Only next time I'd hit him in the face.
