Ah, Hammerhead! Another of the Marvel Universe's legion of gangsters, Hammerhead bases his look and personality on a 1920s wiseguy, not out of a deliberate fashion choice, but because he was brain-damaged in the accident that led doctors to insert a steel plate in his skull. Fortunately, in the Marvel Universe, beating up on the mentally ill is mandatory, especially if you're Spider-Man (just ask the Green Goblin or Venom), so Hammerhead's been able to sustain a fairly successful career as a lower-tier villain over the years. Which is more than can be said for some crimebosses we could mention....
